An internationally recognized lecturer for over 45 years, Dr. Bergman has been active in training thousands of dentists, veterinary dentists and denturists in the placement and restoration of implants.
In 2006, Dr. Bergman recognized many veterinarians were placing dental implants designed for humans into small animals. The tooth roots of small animals and humans were similar. Human implants work well in most areas of animal mouths except for animal canine teeth, which are much larger and have a more ovoid cross-section. In 2012, he designed the K9-1 and later the K9-2 dental implant systems to more accurately fit canine teeth in small animals.
As part of the educational process, he authored over 100 scientific and technical publications and produced 29 online training courses, for dental and veterinary professionals. These publications may be recognized by the American Dental Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association, to qualify for CE credits.
